Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has stirred debate after claiming that the entertainment industry is largely driven by self-worship and values that, in his view, are contrary to God.
"There is no bigger enabler than the entertainment industry. This is where demons live," he said.
Jim Iyke further argued that the industry's structure encourages what he described as the virtues of Satanism, saying creatives must make a conscious effort to remain connected to God.
"Entertainment is totally created and orchestrated to extol the virtues of Satanism. What in the entertainment industry glorifies God except you intentionally or consciously pursue Him?" he stated.
The actor explained that while creativity reflects God's nature, many people in the industry end up serving themselves instead.
"As a creative, to create is to mimic God. But in the entertainment structure many serve self. You can't serve God and serve self. That is a conflict of interest. Serving self is Satanism itself," he said.
Reflecting on his own journey, Jim Iyke admitted that he once mistook fame for greatness after witnessing fans cry and faint whenever he appeared in public.
"I have been there. I have seen people cry when I walked into a room and I looked at them and thought I was special. No, you are not," he said.
According to the actor, finding God changed his perspective and helped him understand that true significance comes from a relationship with God rather than public adoration.
"What is special is being able to find God in this place that is devoid of His presence," he added.
